The Trans-Femoral Rotator (TFR) from Hosmer is a welcome addition to any above-knee prosthesis. It allows the amputee to rotate the shin section of the prosthesis relative to the socket, making entry and exit of tight spaces, such as automobiles, much easier.

Indications
- Proximal trans-femoral amputation with limited mobility
- Patients requiring greater access to tight areas
- Patients who want to sit cross-legged
Contraindications
- Patients greater than 300 lbs
- Longer length limbs such as knee disarticulation due to clearance issues
Cautions
- TFR should be in the locked position before ambulation to prevent inadvertent motion
- Any play within the TFR should be reported to the prosthetist by the patient

The Trans-Femoral Rotator has been designed and manufactured for specific patient weights. Failure to follow the weight guidelines and/or overload conditions caused by the patient, such as heavy lifting, high impact sports or abusive activities that would otherwise damage the natural limb, may void the warranty.
